"SING UNTO THE LORD A NEW SONG"
Psalm 98:1 - "O, sing to the Lord a new song, for He has done marvellous things."
This is a song of victory. The Holy Spirit spoke this word to my heart and I believe it is a prophetic word for the Church this coming year.
Exodus 15:1,2 - "I will sing to the Lord, for He is highly exalted. The horse and its rider He has hurled into the sea. The Lord is my strength and my song; He has become my salvation. He is my God, and I will praise Him."
Try to imagine it: towering walls of water grew higher by the minute, dividing a sea. The Israelites crossed over on dry land to the other side. Once they were safely there, they turned back to see their Egyptian oppressors crushed by the towering waves. God had miraculously delivered victory to His people!
Moses started to sing and his sister, Miriam, picked up a tambourine and led the children of Israel in a victory procession, dancing before the Lord. (Read verses 3-18). The Israelites sang in detail of what God had done for them: "Great and marvellous are Your deeds."
The song of Moses was also sung on Sabbath evenings in the synagogues to celebrate Israel's great deliverance from Egypt.
Deuteronomy 7: 8, 9 - "…but because the Lord loves you, and because He would keep the oath which He swore to your fathers, the Lord has brought you out with a mighty hand, and redeemed you from the house of bondage, from the hand of Pharaoh, king of Egypt. Therefore know that the Lord your God, He is God, the faithful God who keeps covenant and mercy for a thousand generations with those who love Him and keep His command."
The Lord redeemed Israel and made a covenant with them. In Exodus 12:21-23 we read that the Blood of the Passover lamb was placed on the doorposts.
Revelation 15:2,3 - "And I saw what looked like a sea of glass mixed with fire and, standing beside the sea, those who had been victorious over the beast and his image and over the number of his name. They held harps given them by God and sang the song of Moses the servant of God and the song of the Lamb…"
The sea of glass is a literal pavement which John saw before the throne and is occupied by the tribulation saints, who were martyred by the Beast. They sing the song of Moses and the song of the Lamb.
Your new song every day keeps God's Presence with you.
Psalm 34:1 - "I will extol the Lord at all times; His praise will always be on my lips." Praise ought to be an everyday part of your life. Spend time in worship in the privacy of your home and put on some music before you go out. Private praise prepares you for public victory. Every single day you should have A NEW SONG to sing before the Lord because of all His goodness.
Also tell people about the things God has done for you. IT WILL BE LIFE-CHANGING FOR THEM AND FOR YOU!
